Assistant Director

Vanessa is an Academic Coach focused on K-12 grade level students and is deeply passionate about working with students with exceptionalities. She is a California native who earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications & Public Relations, a Multiple Subject Teaching credential from Simpson University, as well as a Special Education Credential from California State University Northridge. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Visual Studies at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. Vanessa has over 8 years of experience working with K-12 students in a variety of roles including Behavioral Therapist, classroom teacher, tutor, and executive functioning coach. She also has over 5 years experience as an Activities Coordinator, organizing, planning, and putting on fun events for youth. She values bringing people together and creating a warm, welcoming community. Additionally, Vanessa believes learning can take place across a multitude of settings. She both aspires and encourages others to be life-long learners. In her spare time, she is a multi-media artist, loves building furniture, practicing guitar, and playing video games.
