Rita Chakrian is a master’s student in the Aging Services Management program at the University of Southern California’s Davis School of Gerontology. Rita previously completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and Aging from the USC Davis School of Gerontology. She also holds a minor in Occupational Science from the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Therapy. Rita has supplemented her academic training with work in a wide-range of organizations in Los Angeles, New York, and Yerevan, Armenia so that she can better understand how to quantify and qualify age-related learning schemas. Rita plans to continue her academic journey in a doctorate program pursuing research in educational psychology and life- long learning platforms that connect person to community. The cross-section between gerontology and education showcases her professional vision: employing empathy, creativity, and intention to catalyze positive learning opportunities throughout one’s life course.
